Watch: Flyers' Steve Mason fights off flurry of shots from Rangers

Steve Mason let the NHL know that he’s back by fighting off a torrent of shots from the New York Rangers.

Steve Mason let the NHL know he’s back by fighting off a torrent of shots from the New York Rangers on Saturday night.

The Philadelphia Flyers goalie managed to hold off six successive shots from all angles in a span of 20 seconds late in the third period. Aside from the absolute relentlessness involved, Mason’s saves are impressive because this was only his second game back after missing two weeks due to knee surgery.

Mason was truly on point in what ended up a 4-2 win for the Flyers, stopping 34 of 36 shots.

Despite the win, the Flyers are still nine points out of a wild card spot in the Metropolitan Division, sitting at 27-25-11. The Rangers, who are in second place in the Metropolitan, fell to 38-17-6.
