Toronto Maple Leafs defense Matt Hunwick made his first goal of the season count.
Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Matt Hunwick made his first goal of the season count during Tuesday’s game against the Philadelphia Flyers.
With 7.5 seconds left in the third period, Hunwick’s slap shot went off the knee of Flyers’ defenseman Michael Del Zotto and past goalie Steve Mason to give Toronto a 3–2 lead.
Hunwick’s goal snapped a five-game losing streak for the Maple Leafs. The defenseman has tallied five assists so far this season.
Toronto is now 17-20-7 and sits last in the Atlantic Division standings.
