Watch: Penguins’ Sidney Crosby scores goal at tricky angle vs. Flyers

Sid the Kid did some Sid the Kid things in the Penguins’ win over the Flyers on Thursday night.

“Sid the Kid” displayed some classic “Sid the Kid” talent on Thursday night, as the Pittsburgh Penguins and Philadelphia Flyers battled for Pennsylvania bragging rights.

In the second period, Penguins captain Sidney Crosby scored a goal from a seemingly impossible angle to tie the game at 2–2.

Crosby collected the puck at the midboards before working his way down. Instead of passing to teammate Patric Hornqvist, who was in front of the net, Crosby roofed it with a snipe over the shoulder of Flyers goalie Steve Mason.

The goal was Crosby’s 15th of the year and his second point of the game.

The Penguins went on to beat the Flyers 4–3.
