Fox has won the United States English-language broadcasting rights to the 2018 and 2022 World Cups, according to a tweet Grant Wahl of Sports Illustrated. NBC owned Telemundo has reportedly won the United States Spanish-language broadcasting rights.

Wahl reported earlier that ESPN, who had owned the English-language rights for the World Cup from 1994-2014, had been outbid for the upcoming tournaments set to take place in Qatar and Russia. ESPN paid $100 million for the English Language rights for the 2010 and 2014 World Cups. The bids by the networks to secure the broadcasting rights were reportedly placed yesterday at FIFA headquarters.
