Rory McIlroy Leaves Longtime Agent Andrew Chandler

Rory McIlroy, the No. 3 ranked golfer in the world, has split with his agent Andrew Chandler, according to the BBC.

McIlroy had been represented by Chandler and his agency, International Sports Management, since 2007. This year the golfer rose to stardom after becoming the youngest golfer since Bobby Jones in 1923 to win the U.S. Open. The 22-year-old set several tournament records en-route to a 16-under performance in the Major this June.

"We have had a brilliant year,” Chandler said in a statement. “Rory has grown and he leaves us as a major champion."
