Pittsburgh Penguins head coach Dan Bylsma said that Zbynek Michalek has suffered a broken finger and will be out 4-6 weeks, according to NHL.com.

Michalek, 28, has registered one goal and two assists this season in 10 games for the Penguins. Last year in 73 games, the defensemen tallied five goals and 14 assists for his squad.

The Penguins are currently 6-2-2 which ranks first in the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference. Until now they have been without the full-time services of superstars Evgeni Malkin and Sidney Crosby. Bylsma indicated to reporters that Malkin, who has resumed practice, will travel with the team and may be available for Tuesday night’s game against the New York Islanders.
