CNBC’s Darren Rovell tweets that the NHL will become the first major professional sports league to secure a title sponsor for its All-Star game.  This season’s NHL All-Star Game, taking place on Jan. 29, will be called the 2012 Tim Hortons NHL All-Star Game.

The Ottawa Senators will be hosting the exhibition game for the first time.

Tim Hortons is a large restaurant chain serving both the United States and Canada opened by a former NHL player by the same name. Horton played defenseman for the Toronto Maple Leafs, New York Rangers, Pittsburgh Penguins and Buffalo Sabres until his death in 1974.
