Yankees Re-Sign GM Brian Cashman

The New York Yankees have reached a new deal with general manager Brian Cashman, according to the MLB official Twitter account.

Cashman, 44, will remain with the Yankees under a three-year contract serving as the senior vice president and general manager.  The details of the contract have yet to be released.  His previous contract, however, was worth $6 million over three years.

The longest-serving Yankees GM since Hall of Famer Ed Barrow, Cashman came to the organization as a 19-year-old intern in 1986.  During his tenure with the team, he has earned five World Series rings, including four as GM.

Cashman’s Yankees have also earned 11 division titles and six American League championships.
