Baltimore Orioles Expected To Name Dan Duquette General Manager

The Baltimore Orioles will name former Boston Red Sox and Montreal Expos general manager Dan Duquette their new GM, according to Sports Illustrated's Jon Heyman. The announcement will be made in a press conference Tuesday, according to the report.

Duquette initially met with the Orioles Friday, and he was apparently called back after leaving that night. It was inferred then that he would be offered the position, and all indications were -- at that time -- that he would accept.

The Orioles have interviewed several candidates for the job -- and even offered the position to Toronto Blue Jays assistant GM Tony LaCava -- but they have had no luck in hiring a candidate.
