Oakland Raiders running back Darren McFadden will not play Thursday night against the San Diego Chargers, according to Comcast Sportsnet Bay Area.

McFadden’s absence will mark the second straight game that the star running back has sat out for the Raiders with a lingering right foot injury. Oakland’s former first round pick had just two rushing attempts in a 0-28 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs Oct. 23, and after a Week 8 bye, he sat out a 24-38 loss to the Denver Broncos Nov. 6.

In McFadden’s absence Sunday, Michael Bush ran for 96 yards on 19 carries for the Raiders. He is slated to start once again for Oakland as the team aims to stop their two game losing streak against the 4-4 Chargers Thursday night. Prior to McFadden’s injury, he was leading the NFL in rushing with 614 yards in 113 attempts. Last season, the 24-year-old ran for 1157 yards and seven touchdowns.
