Mike McQueary Will Coach For Penn State This Weekend Against Nebraska
Penn State interim head coach Tom Bradley said today in a press conference that assistant coach Mike McQueary will be with the team this Saturday in the Nittany Lions’ game against Nebraska.
McQueary, now a full-time coach, was the graduate assistant who allegedly witnessed Jerry Sandusky molesting a young boy in the shower in 2002. McQueary has come under fire for not pursuing police action, as have all other involved parties in the Sandusky child sex abuse scandal. As of now, McQueary has not faced any legal charges.
“It’s not that he’s not willing (to address the scandal),” McQueary’s father told The New York Times earlier today. “I think it’s eating him up not to be able to tell his side, but he’s under investigation by the grand jury. He’ll make it. He’s a tough kid.” McQueary, the then 28-year-old graduate assistant, first called his father after witnessing the disturbing sight involving Sandusky.
