David Beckham Edges Charlie Davies for MLS Comeback Player of the Year Honors

David Beckham has been named the 2011 MLS Comeback Player of the Year, according to MLSSoccer.com. The voting was conducted by MLS management, media and players.

Beckham narrowly defeated D.C. United player Charlie Davies, who recovered from life-threatening injuries to play this season.

The LA Galaxy midfielder recovered from a devastating Achilles tendon tear in 2010. Beckham went on to tally a career best 15 assists, which ranked second overall in the league. The Galaxy went 10-1-3 when Beckham scored or assisted.
