Los Angeles Lakers center Pau Gasol is thinking about playing overseas if the NBA season is canceled due to the ongoing labor dispute, the Los Angeles Times reports.

Gasol, initially had dismissed any talk of playing overseas, but reportedly told Spanish media today that he and his brother Marc would play for FC Barcelona if there was no NBA season.

‘If they cancel the season we would like to play here," Gasol said, according to Slam. "I speak for myself, but Marc would also like to play for Barcelona."

Despite practicing with the Spanish team during the off-season, the two-time NBA champion remains optimistic about the prospect of saving part of the 2011-2012 season.

"This doesn't mean that it won't be a season. The union & the league will still have 45 days to get to an agreement before it gets dissolved," he tweeted yesterday. The seven foot center started all 82 games last season averaging 18.8 points per game and 10.2 rebounds per game.
