Free agent guard Aaron Brooks has signed a one-year deal to play overseas in China in light of the NBA lockout, according to Yahoo! Sports.

Brooks will play for Guandong of the Chinese Basketball Association and is already a well known and popular player in China his days playing alongside Yao Ming in Houston. The one-year deal is estimated to be worth $2 million.

The Chinese Basketball Association begins its season this weekend and it ends mid-February. According to the Chinese league rules, Brooks may not opt out of his contract, even if the NBA lockout ends. Brooks will be teaming up with Chinese NBA star Yi Jianlian of the Washington Wizards as well as other NBA players Fred Jones and Lester Hudson.
