Following the New York Jets' loss to the Denver Broncos Thursday night, rumors began circulating that the franchise might make a move to address their quarterback situation. Head coach Rex Ryan quickly squashed those rumors Friday, and reaffirmed his confidence in Mark Sanchez as the team’s starting quarterback.

“Shoot, I’m extremely confident (in Mark Sanchez),” Ryan said, according to NBC Sports. “I’ll go out there and play tomorrow. He’s going to be our quarterback for as long as I am here, which I hope is a long, long time. We know we got the right guy.” The Jets are currently 5-5 on the season after beginning the year 5-3. Last season with Sanchez under center, New York claimed an AFC Wild Card spot after posting an 11-5 record.
