Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson suffered a high ankle sprain this past Sunday an MRI test revealed today, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Peterson left the game in the first quarter of the Vikings 27-21 loss to the Oakland Raiders.  His left foot was stuck in the turf when he turned over on the ankle attempting to evade a tackle from Raiders safety Michael Huff.
