Chicago Cubs' third baseman Aramis Ramirez met with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim this week, according to Ken Rosenthal of FoxSports.com. Ramirez is a free agent.

Rosenthal added that the Angels are set to make an offer, while the Milwaukee Brewers have also inquired.

Ramirez, 33, batted .306/.361/.510 last season with 26 home runs and 93 runs batted in. His best year came in 2006, when he hit 38 homers and drove in 119 runs.

He has been with the Cubs since 2004, after starting his career with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1998.
