The Miami Marlins have increased their offer to infielder Jose Reyes to $111 million over 6 years, according to ESPNDeportes.com.
The Marlins have been in hot pursuit of Reyes, but their last reported offer was some $21 million lower over the same span.
MLBTradeRumors.com cites Joel Sherman of the New York Post in reporting that the Mets -- the team for which Reyes has played for the past nine seasons -- have not been informed of the increase in Miami's offer. UPDATE 7:28 p.m. ET: Sherman is now reporting via tweet that the Mets do indeed know that the Marlins are "over 100M" and are therefore "out of bidding." And what that means, Sherman says, is that "Reyes is leaving unless change of heart."
