The NBA will approve a trade of New Orleans Hornets guard Chris Paul to the Los Angeles Clippers, according to Marc Stein of ESPN. The Hornets will receive a first-round pick, Eric Gordon, Chris Kaman and Al-Farouq Aminu. The Clippers will also receive two future second-round picks in the deal.
It was reported yesterday that a Paul-to-Clippers trade was still alive. Last week, the Hornets agreed to trade Paul to the Los Angeles Lakers in a three-team deal with the Houston Rockets, but the league did not allow the trade. Since being drafted No. 4 overall by the Hornets, Paul has been an All-Star four times and has finished in the top-five in MVP voting twice. In 2007-08 and 2008-09 he led the league in assists, and in 2005-06 he was named the NBA Rookie of the Year.
