Brook Lopez Has Successful Surgery, Screw Inserted Into Right Foot

Injured New Jersey Nets center Brook Lopez had a screw inserted into his right foot during surgery today, according to the Associated Press.

Lopez was diagnosed with a non-displaced stress fracture in his right foot yesterday after inuring himself in the first half of the Nets’ final preseason game earlier this week. The procedure is expected to keep the star center out of the lineup until the middle of February.

Dr. Martin O’Malley, a foot specialist familiar with Lopez’s procedure, told the AP that he will likely begin rehabilitation in two weeks.
