Virginia Tech running back David Wilson will declare for the NFL Draft, according to the Associated Press.
"I had a great season this year," Wilson said, according to the AP. "I felt like I built the legacy here to be remembered.
"This is something I really wanted to do. It's been my goal since I was 8 and a dream of mine. Just to be that close to it and be able to get it and accomplish something that you work so hard for and sweat for every day, I couldn't pass it up."
Wilson ran for 1,709 yards with nine rushing touchdowns in this his junior season with the Hokies. His efforts resulted in ACC Player of the Year honors, and helped Virginia Tech to earn a Sugar Bowl berth. Last season the Virginia native ran for 619 yards on 114 carries.
