New York Yankees catcher Jorge Posada will announce his retirement within the next two weeks, according to Cash Kruth of MLB.com.

Posada, 40, made his major league debut with the Yankees in 1995 and has spent 14 full seasons in the majors, winning four World Series championships, appearing in five All-Star games and winning the Silver Slugger Award five times. The catcher has amassed 1,664 hits, 275 home runs and 1,065 RBIs in his career while hitting .273.
