Earlier this month Mayweather had a 90-day jail sentence for misdemeanor assault postponed in order to allow the boxer to fight May 5 in Las Vegas. Since then the undefeated boxer has publically challenged his archrival Pacquiao to fight him on that date at the MGM Grand.

Pacquiao’s camp has expressed interest in a possible fight with Mayweather, but believes that the two sides can come up with a better date and location to hold the bout. According to Pacquiao’s financial advisor, the MGM Grand’s limited capacity only seats approximately 17,000 fans, which could potentially raise $20 million in sales. A 45,000 seat boxing arena is currently being built in Las Vegas and could raise up to $50 million.  However, the larger arena will not be completed before Mayweather is scheduled to turn himself in for his sentence.
