Report: Rob Gronkowski Expected To Play In Super Bowl

A source familiar with the status of Rob Gronkowski’s ankle injury told the Boston Herald that it won’t prevent the Pro Bowl tight end from playing in Super Bowl XLVI.

He’ll be ready to go,the source told the Boston Herald.

Gronkowski was forced to leave the game after an ankle injury in the third quarter against the Baltimore Ravens in Sunday’s AFC Championship game. The 22-year-old had to be helped by team trainers as he hopped off the field in pain. The Patriots went on to secure a 23-20 victory over the Ravens, ensuring their fifth Super Bowl appearance since 2001.

The second-year tight end set an NFL record this season for touchdown receptions at his position. In 16 games  he hauled in 90 receptions for 17 touchdowns and 1,327 yards.
