Report: Peyton Manning Medically Cleared To Resume NFL Career

There are plenty of questions to be answered before Peyton Manning can resume his career as an NFL quarterback, but a big one was put to rest today. Manning has been medically cleared to play again, according to ESPN's Chris Mortensen.

Manning missed all of the 2011 season with a neck injury. He's now ready to return to the game, health-wise, but the next question is what uniform he'll wear in 2012.

The Colts have an option to pay Manning a $28 million bonus and retain him for next season; a decision on that bonus is due March 8. The Colts can pay him the bonus, they can opt out, or they can trade him before that date. Or -- yes, there's a fourth option -- they can negotiate an extension on that deadline.

The Redskins, Cardinals, Dolphins and Jets are among the teams rumored to have interest in Manning's services, should the Colts choose to move him.
