Amare Stoudemire's Brother Killed In Car Accident

New York Knicks star power forward Amare Stoudemire’s brother was killed in a car accident early Monday morning in Florida, according to ESPN.com

Hazell Stoudemire was driving at high speeds without his seatbelt and collided with the rear of a tractor trailer at around 1:45am, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Amare has left the team, who will be playing against the Jazz tonight, to be with his family in Florida.

The Knicks power forward is originally from Lake Wells, Florida, and was drafted straight out of Cypress Creek High School by the Phoenix Suns.  Since 2010, Stoudemire has been playing for the Knicks, averaging 18.2 points and 8.1 rebounds per game this year.
