New York Jets wide receiver Plaxico Burress is strongly interested in playing for the Philadelphia Eagles, according to Howard Eskin of NBC 10 Philadelphia.
“Saw and talked to Plaxico Burress at Super Bowl and told me he wants to play for Eagles. Badly.,” Eskin tweeted on Wednesday.
After a mediocre 2011-12 season with the Jets, Burress is likely to become a free agent on March 13. If the Eagles fail to make a deal with wide receiver DeSean Jackson, they could very well pursue potential free agent Burress.
Last season, Burress had 45 receptions, 612 yards, and eight touchdowns. The Jets finished 8-8, failing to make the playoffs for the first time since 2008.
