Texas Rangers Nearing Two-Year Deal With Nelson Cruz

The Texas Rangers are finalizing a two-year deal with outfielder Nelson Cruz, according to mlb.com.

Cruz was scheduled for an arbitration hearing on Feb 17th, where he was expected to ask for $7.5 million in rebuttal to the Rangers offering of $5.5. million. A two-year deal would allow them to void the often times difficult arbitration process.

Last season Cruz played in 124 games hitting .263 with 29 home runs and 87 RBIs. He was also the MVP of the American league Champion Series hitting six home runs with 13 RBIs.
