The Baltimore Orioles and centerfielder Adam Jones avoided arbitration and agreed on a one-year contract, the team announced Tuesday.

Jones will be under team control until 2013, when he becomes a free agent, according to MLBTradeRumors.com. Jones, 26, hit .280/.319/.466 in 2011 for the Orioles, setting career highs in games, doubles, home runs, RBI, stolen bases, and total bases. He was also named Most Valuable Oriole.
