All-Star center Pau Gasol is unsure about his future with the Los Angeles Lakers, according to ESPN.
"There's talks and rumors every day. Today I was reading it was Minnesota is really interested in trying to put a good package together," Gasol told ESPN. "[Other teams are] calling, and it seems like things are just waiting for the right offer to come along, for [the Lakers] to pull the trigger."
There is a strong belief within the league that Gasol is attainable for the right price. The Lakers had originally included Gasol in a package that would have acquired star point guard Chris Paul prior to the season, however that trade was nixed by NBA commissioner David Stern. Since then, multiple trade rumors have arisen regarding the seven-footer. Gasol originally joined the Lakers midway through the 2007-08 season, helping to play a major role in Phil Jackson’s triangle offense. The usually consistent 31-year-old has seen his production drop off slightly this season under new head coach Mike Brown.
