North Texas Coach Dan McCarney, Back To Work After Stroke
North Texas head coach Dan McCarney, has returned to work today after suffering a minor stroke last week, reports USA Today.
He was released from the hospital on Thursday, and has been in the office for an hour or so the past couple of days, but will return to his usual schedule today.
He believes he will be ready to lead the team through spring drills within the next couple of weeks. McCarney, 58, has been at North Texas for one season where he led the Mean Green to a 5-7 record. Prior to his arrival at North Texas he had coached at Iowa State from 1995 to 2006 and has worked as an assistant at Florida, South Florida, Wisconsin and Iowa.
