Right winger Steve Downie has been traded from the Tampa Bay Lightning to the Colorado Avalanche, according to TSN hockey insider Bob McKenzie:

Downie had 12 goals and 16 assists this season for the Lightning, who rank 11th in the Eastern Conference with 58 points. Likewise, the Avs are 11th out West, at 62. Downie was the Philadelphia Flyers' first-round draft pick in 2005. He spent one year with the Flyers' big club before being traded to Tampa in 2008.
