The Oakland Raiders will cut linebacker, Kamerion Wimbley if he does not agree to restructure his contract, according to NFL.com.

The 28-year-old is slotted to make $11 million this season, but more importantly his presence on the roster this year triggers $19 million in future guaranteed money. The Raiders have been looking to get back under the salary cap this offseason, and a restructure of Wimbley’s deal may be necessary to make that happen.

For the Raiders, Wimbley is one of the few pass rushing options they have, however the team’s new general manager, Reggie McKenzie , needs to trim the amount of money spent by the team on their front seven. Last season Wimbley contributed 63 tackles, seven sacks, and one interception for the Raiders. Over the course of his career he has had 368 tackles, 42.5 sacks and two interceptions.
