The Missouri Valley Conference reprimanded Wichita State coach Gregg Williams due to comments Williams made after his team's loss to Illinois State in the conference tournament, according to the Associated Press.

Marshall complained following the game, including his assessment that officials were unfair in giving Shockers center Garrett Stutz a technical foul, saying that they, “Didn’t seem like they wanted to see him play too much.”

Wichita State released a statement Tuesday, in which the coach apologized. The statement read, in part: "I acknowledge the public reprimand from the Missouri Valley Conference regarding my comments and actions following Saturday’s game in the MVC Tournament. I apologize to Commissioner (Doug) Elgin and to the Missouri Valley Conference as a whole. I will have no further comment regarding this as we prepare Wichita State for the NCAA Tournament."
