A report on ESPN Deportes yesterday said Jose Canseco tested positive for a banned substance in the Mexican League, but the former baseball star has taken to Twitter to deny that claim:

Mexican League president Plinio Escalante confirmed to ESPN Deportes that Cansecon tested positive for testosterone, but Canseco said he never took any test.

"The truth [is] a lost art," Canseco added in a later tweet. Canseco hit 462 career home runs with 1,407 RBIs in 17 seasons in the major leagues; he retired on Oct. 6, 2001 and has been intermittently working on a comeback ever since.
