One of the most sensational stories of the last year in sports is converging with another -- Tim Tebow is joining Jeremy Lin in New York City, as the Denver Broncos traded Tebow to the Jets yesterday. And Lin, the Knicks' wildly popular new point guard, is excited to have the athletic QB joining him in the Big Apple.
“It’s awesome," Lin told the New York Post last night. "I’m just excited for him and to see what he does. We’ll see what happens next year, but I’m excited obviously that he’s going to be in New York.”
Lin rose to power as the Knicks' point guard in early February, immediately leading the team to seven straight wins and returning them to relevance in the Eastern Conference playoff race. He's new to the New York sports scene, but he's already got some advice to impart to Tebow about dealing with life in the big market. “Everyone gave me some advice; they said, ‘Make sure not to read the papers,’" Lin said, laughing. “But I don’t want to say that to offend you guys. But that’s what I’ve been told. I don’t really read anything. I think it helps me.”
