Regardless of how the Kentucky men's basketball team fares in this weekend's Sweet Sixteen, one of its players has already had a successful weekend -- Anthony Davis today was named the winner of the 2012 Adolph Rupp Award, given to the national player of the year.

It's far from the first national recognition Davis has earned -- the freshman big man was also named the Robertson Trophy winner and the Sporting News player of the year.
Davis is the second Kentucky Wildcat to win Rupp honors in three years -- John Wall also took home the award in 2010. Davis is averaging 14.3 points, 10.1 rebounds and 4.6 blocks per game for a Kentucky team that's 34-2 and favored by many to win the national championship. The Wildcats take on the Indiana Hoosiers in tournament action tomorrow night.
