The Cleveland Indians have finalized a two-year contract extension for shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera, according to the team’s official Twitter account.

Cabrera, 26, will now be locked up by the club until he is 29-years-old as the extension keeps him under contract through 2014. The shortstop had a breakout year in 2011, hitting .273/.332/.460 with 25 home runs and 92 RBI. His previous career-high in home runs was six. Cabrera was selected as an All-Star last season, and won the Silver Slugger for his position in the American League.
