Baltimore Ravens safety Ed Reed told 105.7 The Fan in Baltimore that he plans on playing in 2012, however he made it clear that nothing is set in stone.
“I plan on playing,” Reed said. “Everybody in the world knows plans can change.”
“I got some unfinished business,” Reed said. “I got a lot on my mind I’ve been thinking about. The truth of the matter is, it’s about respect. It’s about getting respect and it’s a business.”
Reed is owed $7.2 million in base salary next season, but has been in the midst of negotiating a contract extension with Baltimore. The 33-year-old has played his entire career with the Ravens. Last season, Reed had 85 tackles and five interceptions, en route to helping Baltimore reach the AFC Championship game. Over the course of his career, he has 57 interceptions, six of which he has returned for touchdowns.
