The Cleveland Indians placed center fielder Grady Sizemore on the 60-day disabled list Wednesday, according to the Associated Press. Sizemore underwent back surgery in March.

Indians general manager Chris Antonetti told the AP that Sizemore will resume baseball activities in a few weeks, but he isn't eligible to return to the field until early June.

Sizemore re-signed with the team in January and was injured fielding ground balls during spring training.

He played in just 71 games in 2011, hitting 10 home runs and driving in 32 runs.
