The Cleveland Indians have signed prospect catcher Carlos Santana to a five-year, $21 million deal, according to MLB.com.

The deal will cover Santana’s arbitration years and also includes a team option for 2017.

The 26-year-old is embarking on his third MLB season. Last year in 155 games the catcher hit .239/.351/.457 with 27 home runs and 79 RBI. Through four games this season, he has hit .250/.400/.625 with two home runs and four RBI. Santana was named the 10th best prospect in baseball in 2010 by Baseball America, and the 26th best in 2009.
