Celtics G Ray Allen Stays Home As Team Hits The Road

Boston Celtics guard Ray Allen stayed in Boston Thursday after the rest of the Celtics left for a four-game road trip, according to ESPN.com.

Allen has been battling an ankle injury, and he sat out Wednesday's game due to increased swelling.

"It just swells, I guess," Celtics coach Doc Rivers said, according to the report. "I don't know. I got a call a little while ago (informing him that Allen would be out). It is what it is. ... I'm just more concerned that this is the second or third time this has happened. So that's concerning."

Allen was expected to travel with the team, who left Thursday for Toronto.
