Long time catcher Ivan Rodriguez will announce his retirement Monday with the Texas Rangers -- the team he started his career with, according to Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald.

Rodriguez hit .218/.281/.323 with two home runs in 137 plate appearances with the Washington Nationals last season. The 40-year-old will retire a 14-time all-star and World Series champion.
