Virginia Tech head basketball coach Seth Greenberg has been fired, sources have told the Washington Post.

Greenberg, 56, had compiled a 170-123 record as the head coach of the Hokies. Last season the squad finished with a 16-17 record. During his tenure with the club, the team only made the NCAA tournament one time out of the hyper competitive Atlantic Coast Conference. Prior to coaching at Virginia Tech, Greenberg led the South Florida Bulls to a 108-100 record in seven seasons. He also led the Long Beach State 49ers to a 105-70 record in six seasons during the 1990’s.
