New York Knicks head coach Mike Woodson says that there is a “strong possibility” that starting center Tyson Chandler will not play in Game 1 against the Miami Heat Saturday, according to the New York Daily News.
Chandler has been battling the flu, according to reports. The 29-year-old was held out of Thursday night’s regular season finale because of the illness.
The Knicks will re-evaluate his status prior to Saturday’s tip-off. In 62 games this season, Chandler averaged 11.3 points and 9.9 rebounds.
