The Houston Texans have released wide receiver Jacoby Jones, according to an NFL.com report. The Texans used their third-round pick on wide receiver DeVier Posey from Ohio State.

Reports indicate that Houston was trying to shop Jones, who was due to earn $3 million next season. He has been with the team since 2007, when he was drafted in the third round. Jones had an off year last season, with just 31 catches for 512 yards. In his tenure in Houston, Jones compiled over 1,700 yards and 11 touchdowns.
