University of Notre Dame quarterback Tommy Rees has been charged with a felony after a confrontation with police officers early this morning, according to the Associated Press.

The 19-year-old was arrested on charges of resisting law enforcement, battery to law enforcement, and minor consumption, police told the AP. Linebacker Carlo Calabrese was also arrested in the incident, and was charged with a misdemeanor.

Rees is currently being held without bond until formal charges can be levied. Last year, as a freshman, Rees started 12 of 13 games for the Irish, throwing for 2,871 yards and 20 touchdowns.
