Los Angeles Dodgers Sign Bobby Abreu To One-Year Deal

Former Los Angeles Angels outfielder Bobby Abreu has agreed to a one-year contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers, according to Fox Sports.

Abreu was released by the Angels last week despite a large chunk of change remaining on his long-term contract. The veteran outfielder had hit just .208 to start the season on a team filled with out of position sluggers looking for a spot in the lineup. Top prospect Mike Trout replaced him on the roster.

The 38-year-old reportedly will sign for the major-league minimum with the Dodgers.

Abreu hit .253/.353/.365 with eight home runs and 60 RBI last season for the Angels. Over the course of his 17 year career he has averaged .293/.397/.480 with 20 home runs, 96 RBI, and 28 stolen bases.
