Report: Yankees' Mariano Rivera Has Twisted Knee, Needs MRI

Here's an update on Mariano Rivera, who injured his right knee earlier tonight during batting practice: The New York Yankees' closer has a twisted knee, according to MLB.com Yankees writer Bryan Hoch, and will be sent for an MRI during tonight’s game.

Rivera sustained the injury during BP as the Yankees prepared to take on the Kansas City Royals tonight, just after 7 p.m. He had to be carted off the field.

Rivera was examined at Kauffman Stadium by the Royals’ associate physician, Dr. Joe Noland, as well as the Yankees’ training staff.
