The Tampa Bay Rays have placed infielder Jeff Keppinger the restricted list due to an undisclosed personal matter, according to MLB.com.

The Rays have recalled Brandon Guyer, a Triple-A outfielder, to take his place. Guyer had hit .294 with three home runs and 13 RBI for Triple-A Durham.

Keppinger had signed a one-year, $1.25 million deal with the Rays this offseason. The 32-year-old is hitting .313/.338/.453 while playing multiple infield positions for Tampa this year. Over the course of his eight year career, he has hit .282/.332/.390 with 34 home runs and 222 RBI.
